Leaving and extras

Keep it light. For Airbnb stays booked on or after November 20, 2026, hosts can't ask guests to do tasks a cleaner would normally do, like stripping beds or washing dishes.

How it works

How the guest message writer works

Each message is a template with blanks such as the check-in time and Wi-Fi name. The writer fills them from house details you save once, and anything still missing stays in [brackets] so you spot it before you send.

A worked example

The check-in instructions message, for a guest named Sam, after the host has saved a name, a check-in time and the Wi-Fi.

Check-in instructions
Details the message uses10
Filled from saved detailsguest name, check-in time, Wi-Fi name, Wi-Fi password and your name5
Still in [brackets]rental name, entry instructions, parking and emergency contact4

Fill in the 4 missing details once and every other message picks them up too. Empty optional lines, like a guidebook link, are dropped instead of left blank.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't send messages. Copy the text, or save it as a quick reply on your platform and schedule it there.
  • It doesn't translate messages.
  • Door codes and Wi-Fi passwords stay in this browser. Nothing is sent to us.

Questions hosts ask

Can I edit a message before sending?

Yes. Copy it, paste it into your platform's message box and change anything you like. The template stays the same for next time.

Where are my details stored?

Only in this browser on this device. The same details fill the house manual and every template page.

Is there a short version?

Many messages have one for quick, text-style replies. Switch between Full and Short above the message.

How many messages are there?

26, from the inquiry reply to the review request, grouped by when in the stay you send them.
