Privacy

HostCalmly is built so we don't need your data. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. What you type into the tools stays in your browser on this device.

What's stored on your device

Your rentals, counts, prices, plans and snapshots are saved in your browser's local storage, under keys that start with hc:. They're never sent to us. Specifically:

  • Your rentals and plans (hc:data).
  • Calculator settings for the cleaning fee and break-even tools (hc:calc:cleaning-fee and hc:calc:break-even).
  • Your color theme if you pick one (hc:theme).
  • A recovery copy (hc:data:corrupt: plus a time) if saved data is ever damaged, so nothing is lost silently.
  • The last message template you opened, kept in session storage (hc:tpl) and cleared when you close the tab.

None of these are cookies, and none are readable by other websites.

What we receive

  • Nothing you type. Tool inputs, rental names, addresses, Wi-Fi details, prices and guest names stay on your device.
  • Basic server logs. Like any website, the company that hosts HostCalmly automatically records technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these only to keep the site running and secure. The hosting company's name will be added here before launch.
  • Visit counts from Cloudflare Web Analytics, without cookies or personal data. Details.
  • Email you send us. If you write to hostcalmly@gmail.com, we receive your address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it's described below. Fonts are served from this site, so no third-party font service sees your visit.

Analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and Cloudflare says it discards the IP address at its nearest data center. We see totals, such as how many people opened a page, the site that linked to it, and the country, browser and device type. We can't see who you are.

It counts page views only. It doesn't record what you do on a page, and it never receives what you type.

If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the analytics script isn't loaded at all.

Cookies

HostCalmly sets no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't either.

When you click through to a vendor or store, you're on their site and their privacy policy applies. They may set their own cookies.

Files you save

Backups (JSON), shopping lists (CSV) and printed or PDF pages are created on your device and go wherever you save them. Copy buttons put text on your clipboard only when you tap them.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share personal information, we don't run ads and we don't build profiles. We don't track you across other websites, and we don't let other companies do it on ours.

Do Not Track and privacy signals

We honor both. When your browser sends either signal, the Cloudflare Web Analytics script isn't loaded, so not even an anonymous visit is counted.

Children

HostCalmly is for adults who run rentals. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Your control

  • Export a full backup from My rentals.
  • Delete one rental, or everything, from the same page.
  • Clearing your browser's site data for HostCalmly also removes everything.
  • We can't see, recover or delete data on your device for you, because we never have it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we'll update this page before the change takes effect and show the new date at the top.
